Wording Styles Wording you invitations can prove to be difficult if traditional wording can not be used. As a result we have put together a few examples of different situations. Invitations - These are ususally sent by the hosts of the wedding, we have suggested some alternatives to fit different situations; Bride & Groom as Host: Tara Murray and Oliver Matthews request the pleasure of your company at their marriage .... Divorced Parents: Mr Ashley Murray and Mrs Deborah Murray request the pleasure of your company at the marriage of their daughter .... Brides Father as Host: Mr Ashley Murray requests the pleasure of your company at the marriage of his daughter .... Brides Mother (Divorced): Mrs Deborah Murray requests the pleasure of your company at the marriage of her daughter .... Other Hosts: Mr and Mrs Barry Grogan requests the pleasure of your company at the marriage of Tara Murray and Oliver Matthews .... Invitations should be addressed to the guests with their names written in full e.g. Mr Adam Matthews, a family invitation should be written: Mr and Mrs Adam, Rebecca Matthews. The envelope of a formal invitation should be addressed to the wife: Mrs Rebecca Matthews and the invitation should state 'Black Tie' if your guests are required to wear evening dress. Day Invitations Mr and Mrs Ashley Murray request the pleasure of your company to celebrate the marriage of their daughter Tara Alexandra to Oliver James Matthews on Saturday 22nd September 2006 at 1.30 pm St James' Church, Christleton, Chester and afterwards at The Chester Grosvenor Hotel and Spa.
